Message from the Provost

I warmly welcome you to the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan — a trailblazing institution in West Africa's agricultural landscape. With a rich history spanning over a century, dating back to 1899 when the Moor Plantation was established, our college stands as a beacon of academic excellence and practical agricultural training.

As the first agricultural institution in Nigeria and West Africa, established formally in 1921, we carry the weight of legacy and the momentum of innovation. Today, we continue to evolve, offering a diverse range of 25 accredited academic programs at ND and HND levels, with flexible part-time options to accommodate working professionals.

We are particularly proud of our recent milestone — the introduction of B.Sc degree programs in partnership with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). This makes us among the first monotechnics in Nigeria to offer degree-level education, opening new horizons for our students.

Our research activities, farm equipment design and fabrication, and community outreach programs in sustainable farming practices ensure that our impact extends beyond the classroom. We are also investing in sports, recreation, and vocational training to develop well-rounded graduates ready for the challenges of the 21st century.
