FCAIB COMMENCES 2026 FINAL-YEAR STUDENTS’ PROJECT DEFENCE
FCAIB has commenced the 2026 Final-Year Students’ Project Defence, with students presenting and defending their research projects before a panel of lecturers and industry experts.
The Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), has commenced the 2026 final-year students’ project defence for graduating students across various schools of the College.
The exercise, which is a compulsory requirement for the completion of the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes, is being conducted in line with the standards and guidelines of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
The project defence provides the students with an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, technical competence and practical skills acquired during their programmes, while applying theoretical knowledge to research, problem-solving and innovation.
Participating students are drawn from the School of Agriculture; School of Engineering Technology; School of Agricultural Management and Vocational Studies; School of Applied Sciences and Technology; and School of Basic Studies and Media Technology. The exercise is being coordinated by the College Project Committee at the Professor Daramola Office Complex.
Despite the ongoing students' break, the College Management, under the leadership of the Provost, Professor Jonathan J. Atungwu, has ensured that the exercise proceeds as scheduled. This is aimed at enabling the graduating students to complete their academic requirements on time and avoid unnecessary delays in the graduation process.
The defence panels comprise the respective Deans and Heads of Departments, alongside external supervisors from reputable tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Their participation provides an independent assessment of the students’ projects, strengthens academic standards, quality assurance and institutional credibility.
The ongoing exercise underscores FCAIB’s commitment to practical-oriented education, skills development and innovation, as the College continues to prepare competent and industry-ready graduates capable of contributing to the development of Nigeria’s agricultural and technical sectors.
